"Dish" is uber-proud to tout the importance of one of its best-selling technologically advanced core denims.
An innovative elastic fiber with Lycra branding, T400, with its poly and lycra fibers spun together, is revolutionizing the comfort, hand, stretch and recovery (about 30% more than just lycra fabrics!), wrinkle-resistance, washability and care of contemporary fabrics. Denim is perhaps one of the greatest beneficiaries of the addition of this miracle fiber to its construction, especially in a blend of 70% cotton / 30% T400 polyester.
Garments with T400 poly/lycra not only fit well, with the breathable fiber providing a subtle stretch for ergonomic comfort and ease of movement, but they also retain their shape beautifully, throughout the day and even after repeated washing and wearing. Added to this is the actual vintage fabric construction itself, resulting in not only a fascinating textural weave, but also one that is very durable and rip resistant, while still fashionable, young, and ultimately modern.
This denim has the added attraction of an enhancing versatility factor. "Dish" makes this all-season 9.8 oz denim available in a variety of key wash treatments - dark rinsed blue/black (indigo based) for everywhere elegance, chic black yarn dyed, sophisticatedly stonewashed and sanded pure indigo for casual denim authenticity, and fashion-right grey - fit to conquer any situation.
The Preparation ...
Always turn the jeans inside out before washing.
Keep the fly zipped and the waist button closed.
Fold the jeans. Place side seam to side seam and put them neatly in the washing machine to prevent the colour from cracking (faded lines in the legs)
The Wash ...
Warm wash, cold rinse. Fill the machine with water before adding detergent.
Never use detergent containing any bleach. Liquid fabric softeners may splotch and pre-soaks tend to break down natural fibers - avoid them!
To preserve the colour longer, especially black and darks, once the water drum is full, add one or two thimblefuls of plain white vinegar and one or two teaspoons of iodized salt, and run the cycle. Or, as an alternative, new commercial "Dark Wash" detergents can be a big help.
The Drying ...
Gently shake when removing from washer.
Hint: If your jeans have been feeling a tad small at the waist, work your way around the waistband and gently pull as you go. This will very slightly stretch the waistband and may just do the trick for you!
Refold. Fold the jean's side seams together and then fold again in half, waist to hem.
Place the folded garment in the dryer drum and throw in a fabric softener sheet. Don't over-dry. Run the dryer about 30 minutes.
Hang them upside down from hems and they will stretch about 1/4" to counteract any possible shrinkage.
If you've followed this procedure all the way through, you should never have to iron your jeans - and that's a bonus in unto itself!
